EU takes swipe at Microsoft

'She did not mention Microsoft by name Tuesday, but encouraged computer users to avoid formats that, like many Microsoft products, are based on proprietary standards.'

'"I know a smart business decision when I see one - choosing open standards is a very smart business decision indeed,"'

'EU agencies "must not rely on one vendor" and "must refuse to become locked into a particular technology - jeopardizing maintenance of full control over the information in its possession," she said.'

Europe leads the way!
Well no, I suppose Cuba does, but the EU is still very good.

Also, my theories on looking at 4chan while studying are now scientifically proven

'they exhibited improved cognition and creativity after exposure to sexy stimuli.'.

Studying Hard for Exams

I have my university semester 1 exams coming up, first one is on the 13th I think. So I've been studying real hard, even at 4:30 at night xD

News on 911 & HAARP / China's Earthquake

USA Military Officers Challenge Official Account of September 11

One quote within the artcle:
"Building 7, was never hit by a plane and even NIST is ashamed to advance a reason for its collapse. And, miracle of miracles, these three buildings just happened to be leased and insured by the same guy who is on tape saying they decided to ‘PULL’ the last one to fall."

I think that just summarises everything quite nicely?

China's Earthquake Hrmmmm....

All the various theories & arguments behind it's true nature are too complex and numerous to summarise, so I shall just link to the main discussion thread here, and some interesting news articles:

(You'd probably need to read the thread to put the stories into context - ie. understand what's really important in them)

In the Liberals

Well this doesn't really apply anymore, because ALP controls federal & all states, but still, so damn funny xD

Clarification on the true nature of Microsoft

Today was a great day. In my computing lab, all me and my friends did was talk about programming and computer languages for two hours. And we also talked to our awesome tutor, John Shepherd about it.
Best lab so far, I reckon there's not enough time in our course to just...talk about really cool stuff like that.

But moreover, Matt said the most profound thing, which many have perhaps heard before, but I've certainly forgotten it,

"Microsoft is not a software company, it's a marketing company".

I could not agree more 8)

Neo-Cons Admit that the "War on Terror" is a hoax

Very interesting article, please do read it, specifically the quotations.

Lolwut? I know how to fix every windows problem

For some reason, I googled to find my own blog. How odd? Natural reaction to when I need to find something I guess.

Anyway, it just hit me. We always joke about this, but I'm being super serious.

I can fix any windows problem with a linux install disk! It's like Stalin said, "No man...no problem". Well I extend that to computing and say, "No Windows...no problem".

Excellent :D
